Derek Fisher, former NBA player/coach, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his car overturned on a Los Angeles freeway, authorities said Sunday.
Former Basketball Wives realityD star Gloria Govan was in the vehicle with Fisher, though both escaped without serious injury.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 42-year-old Fisher allowed his Cadillac to veer right onto a paved shoulder. The vehicle then hit a raised concrete curb and guardrail, which caused it to flip over and come to rest on its roof.
During the investigation, officers learned that Fisher had been drinking. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Fisher, who spent the majority of his NBA playing career with the Lakers, helping them to five NBA titles, lives in the Southern California city.
He coached the New York Knicks from 2014-2016.
Govan, 32, is the ex-wife of Golden State Warriors guard Matt Barnes.
Barnes, a teammate of Fisher's in Los Angeles from 2010-2012, was banned for two games by the NBA in 2015 for an altercation with Fisher at the home of Govan, who was then Barnes's estranged wife.
